Our Mission
The Fishman Family Foundation’s mission is to empower and sustain the Greater Tampa Bay community by providing funding to exceptional local public charities dedicated to Education, Health and Human Services, and Affordable Housing. We are committed to maximizing our impact by directing every possible resource directly to our regional partners, ensuring efficient, transparent, and lasting support for the vital work they do across Tampa Bay.
Our History
Samuel and Elinor Fishman moved to Tampa in the 1960s. Sam had a successful real estate and lending career which afforded them the opportunity to give back to the community. After Sam’s passing in 2012, the family established a charitable foundation with the goal of supporting the greater Tampa Bay community. The foundation is now run by Jeffrey, Brandy, and Ellie Fishman, who carry on the legacy of giving.
Our Selection Process
The Fishman Family Foundation was established to support the identified 501(c)(3) public charities Partner organizations are identified and selected by the Foundation through its Board of Directors on an annual basis, with final determinations made in November of each year. The Foundation will endeavor to provide perpetual cash funding to the selected charities to enable and facilitate such charities to further the mutual goals and purposes of both the Foundation and said charities.
